Transmission service in Riyadh
Transmission service — carried out in our Riyadh workshop with marque-specific equipment

An automatic gearbox on a modern European car packs mechanics, hydraulics and electronics into one unit. Its behaviour changes gradually before it fails: a slight delay on engagement, a jolt at one specific shift, hesitation on deceleration. These are readable signals, and correct service usually solves them long before a full overhaul becomes necessary.

Transmission fluid is what protects the internals. Changing it on time with the right specification prevents most costly failures; neglecting it slowly damages clutch packs and mechatronics.

01

Fluid is half the life of a gearbox

Transmission fluid carries hydraulic pressure, cools the unit and sets clutch friction. With heat and time it degrades and carries metal debris into the valve body. In Riyadh's climate the effect of a delayed change is very visible. Our change is not a drain and fill: we drop the pan, replace filter and gasket, clean the magnets, then fill the calculated volume at a controlled temperature, because a wrong level causes overheating or pressure loss.

02

Mechatronics and the control unit

Jolts and delays do not always mean internal damage. Many cases originate in the mechatronics: internal valve leakage, an electrical connector wicking fluid into the unit, or adaptation values that drifted over time. We read line pressures, fluid temperature and adaptation values during a road test, and that separates a contained repair from a full teardown.

03

Torque converter and driving behaviour

A vibration at a steady 60–100 km/h often relates to the torque converter lock-up clutch, and is frequently confused with wheel imbalance or engine mounts. We separate them with a guided road test and data logging: watching converter slip and the lock-up point, and checking whether the vibration follows engine speed or road speed. Correct diagnosis here saves you a large, unnecessary job.

What you feel before a gearbox fault

A change in shift feel is the first thing a driver notices; early attention prevents wider damage.

  • 01Jolt between gears
  • 02Delayed engagement
  • 03Noise under acceleration
  • 04Transmission fault message

What the service includes

  • Fluid service with genuine specification
  • Mechatronic repair and replacement
  • Adaptation reset after service
  • Shudder and delayed engagement fixes

Requests we get for this service

If your case is close to one of these descriptions, send it as is on WhatsApp and we will understand it immediately.

  • Gearbox fluid and filter change to the correct spec
  • Shift jolt on a German car
  • Delayed engagement from P to D
  • Transmission fault message on the dashboard
  • Vibration at steady speed I suspect is the gearbox

Advice from the workshop floor

Practical notes learned from cars that came through the workshop, useful even if you never visit us.

  • 1Never shift between D and R before the car has fully stopped.
  • 2Change the fluid periodically even if it is labelled lifetime — Riyadh heat changes the equation.
  • 3Any new jolt deserves an early check; delay raises the cost sharply.

The gearbox job, step by step

  1. 01

    Vehicle intake

We record the symptoms, history and vehicle data.

  2. 02

    Inspection

We measure and test before suggesting parts.

  3. 03

    Report and approval

We explain the cause and work before starting.

  4. 04

    Work and documentation

A specialist carries out and documents the work.

  5. 05

    Handover test

Final checks and a road test where needed.

What reassures you before handing over your car

Clear written commitments from diagnosis to handover.

  • Warranty on completed work

The warranty scope is stated on the invoice; if the same symptom returns during it, the car is checked without a new diagnostic fee.

  • Nothing starts without approval

You receive the fault, parts and labour report before dismantling or replacement begins.

  • Your old parts are returned

Replaced parts remain available until collection and are shown to you clearly.

  • A written record of every visit

Inspection readings, work, date and mileage are recorded so the next visit is faster and more accurate.

Gearbox and fluid questions

Is gearbox fluid really 'lifetime'?+

Practically no, especially in Riyadh heat. We recommend periodic changes based on use.

How do I know it is the gearbox, not the engine?+

If the jolt is tied to a shift point or a specific speed it is usually the transmission; a road test with live module data confirms it.

Will a fluid change alone fix the jolt?+

Sometimes yes if the case is early and clean; sometimes inspection shows internal wear needing more work. We tell you before you spend.
