Diagnostics & coding in Riyadh
Diagnostics & coding — carried out in our Riyadh workshop with marque-specific equipment

Diagnostics on a modern European car is not plugging in a tool and reading a number. Dozens of modules talk to each other over an internal network, and a fault can surface in one module while its real cause sits in another or in the wiring between them. We scan the whole network, log live data while the engine runs and while the car drives, then compare it with the factory values for that exact model before telling you what needs work.

A stored code points to where the fault is, not always to the failed part. We read live data and compare it against factory values before judging any component — which saves you replacing healthy parts.

01

What actually happens in a diagnostic session

We start from the VIN to fix the generation and options, then run a full scan across every module: engine, transmission, brakes, airbags, climate, network and comfort units. Stored and intermittent faults are logged with their freeze-frame conditions — a detail many skip although it does half the work. Then we move to live data: oxygen sensor readings, fuel rail pressure, cam angles, short and long term fuel trims, oil and gearbox temperatures.

02

Why we do not replace a part just because its code appeared

A code like "oxygen sensor out of range" can come from the sensor itself, from an air leak after the mass air flow meter, from a leaking injector, or even from a fuel cap that does not seal. The difference between a workshop that guesses and one that measures is this step: we test the circuit for voltage and resistance, use a smoke machine for air leaks, and run a compression test when needed. Replacement follows measured evidence, not a screen reading.

03

Coding and programming after the repair

Many parts on modern cars do not simply work once fitted: a battery must be registered by type and capacity, a brake module needs initialisation, cameras and screens need calibration, and a gearbox needs adaptation after service. We code and update with the manufacturer software where required, then rescan so the car leaves with a genuinely clean fault memory, not one that was merely erased.

Signs your car needs a scan

Most people who come in for a scan describe one of these. It doesn't mean a big failure, but it deserves an early read.

  • 01Engine light on
  • 02Sudden torque loss
  • 03Error messages on screen
  • 04Rough running

What the service includes

  • Stored and live fault reading across all modules
  • Module programming and coding after replacement
  • Software-version checks and update assessment
  • Written report with faults and repair priorities

Requests we get for this service

If your case is close to one of these descriptions, send it as is on WhatsApp and we will understand it immediately.

  • Full diagnostic scan for a German car in Riyadh
  • Check engine light — find the cause before I buy
  • Module programming after a part replacement
  • Battery registration and camera calibration
  • An intermittent fault other workshops could not find

Advice from the workshop floor

Practical notes learned from cars that came through the workshop, useful even if you never visit us.

  • 1Do not clear codes before the visit; clearing deletes the freeze-frame data we rely on.
  • 2Note when the fault shows: cold, warm, under acceleration or over bumps.
  • 3Keep previous scan reports — they shorten diagnostic time and cost.

From arrival to the report

  1. 01

    Vehicle intake

We record the symptoms, history and vehicle data.

  2. 02

    Inspection

We measure and test before suggesting parts.

  3. 03

    Report and approval

We explain the cause and work before starting.

  4. 04

    Work and documentation

A specialist carries out and documents the work.

  5. 05

    Handover test

Final checks and a road test where needed.

What reassures you before handing over your car

Clear written commitments from diagnosis to handover.

  • Warranty on completed work

The warranty scope is stated on the invoice; if the same symptom returns during it, the car is checked without a new diagnostic fee.

  • Nothing starts without approval

You receive the fault, parts and labour report before dismantling or replacement begins.

  • Your old parts are returned

Replaced parts remain available until collection and are shown to you clearly.

  • A written record of every visit

Inspection readings, work, date and mileage are recorded so the next visit is faster and more accurate.

What customers ask before a scan

How long does a scan take?+

30–60 minutes for a base scan; intermittent faults may need a road test.

Do I get a written report?+

Yes — faults, priorities and cost, sent on WhatsApp before any work.

I cleared the code and it came back — why?+

Clearing only removes the message, not the cause. A returning code means the fault is still live, so we read running data to pinpoint its source.

Does the scan cover every module?+

Yes — we read every available module, not just the engine ECU, because faults often show in one module while the cause sits in another.
